A Quick Guide to Las Vegas | Away Holidays

Although most people go to Las Vegas to try their luck in the casinos, and dance the night away in the city’s clubs, there’s a lot more to this destination than just gambling and parties. If you want to take a break from the roulette table, there are plenty of other ways to keep yourself amused in this amazing city.

If you feel like taking a stroll, the Vegas Strip is the place to go; this is, without a doubt, one of the most popular attractions in the area. It’s a famous street which is home to the top twenty five casinos, including the Venetian, Wynn, Mandalay, Caesar’s Palace, MGM Grand and the Bellagio. The incredible architecture includes imitations of the pyramids, the Eiffel Tower and the New York skyline.

Away Holidays

Away Holidays’ customers who have visited Vegas also love the City-Centre’s Fine Art Collection. This space can be found on the strip, and is home to an extensive collection of artwork, including paintings, large scale installations and sculptures. Highlights include a modern interpretation of the Damascus gate, and an enormous sculpture of colourful canoes, known as the Big Edge.

You may also want to take in a water show, at the aforementioned Bellagio casino. This building contains an enormous fountain, which jets out water in time to booming music (usually Andrea Bocelli or Frank Sinatra) and brightly coloured lights.

This show is exceptionally popular with tourists, so much so that you will need to arrive quite early, if you wish to secure a good viewing spot. Although the fountain is a beautiful sight at any time of the day or night, it is particularly striking after the sun set, which is why most clients of Away Holidays prefer to attend the evening show.

If you’re in Vegas with your better half, we recommend a gondola ride at the Venetian; this casino and hotel has its very own canal system, and for just a small fee you can hop on a boat and enjoy a romantic trip on the water with your loved one. You’ll float under bridges, past sidewalks and cafes, as you make your way down the ‘canal’.

A visit to Las Vegas wouldn’t be complete without seeing a show; there are a lot to choose from, but rest assured, no matter which one you settle for, you’ll be treated to an evening of glitz and glam. Some of the most popular shows include Bally’s Jubilee, Aria’s Viva Elvis, the Venetian’s Blue Man Group, or the Bellagio’s Cirque de Soleil.
